Chamfron Westminster Away

Wills loaded and travelled perfectly and is now safely in his new home with Rory Nicoll.  He joins Chamfron Rufina, who is owned by Rory's wife Lisa, and will be broken to ride and drive.  Really looking forward to seeing him in harness.

Chamfron Mara - One Day Old

Arrayan Numa filly out of Gordian Knot, a full sister to Viscacha and an absolute hoot of a foal.

Chamfron Toledo - One Day Old.

Arrayan Numa colt out of Sue Ellen, big, bold and beautiful!!

Busy, busy, busy...

All happening now, the broody chook has eleven chicks and I think they are probably sired by McFlurry so looking forward to seeing how they shape up.  Chamfron Westminster had his feet trimmed and a bath ready to leave tomorrow.  David also had time to trim Kahlua and Deja Vu's feet and as the sun had come out and Kevin was on hand to grab one we turned them out for the summer with "Auntie Stela" - no time to brush Kahlua so if she could please roll copiously before any one sees her it would be appreciated!!  The foals mostly kicked back and enjoyed the afternoon heat.

Chamfron Tizona - 2 Years Old.

Looking fantastic as always, photos thanks to Christine.

New Foals and Positive Scans.

Busy few hours, Gordian Knot (Tammy) foaled down a bay filly by our Criollo stallion Arrayan Numa at 1.30am, a full sister to Viscacha and very similar.  Followed by our sports horse mare Sue Ellen foaling down a blue roan colt, also by Arrayan at 5am.  He has been named Chamfron Toledo and my gut feeling is he is also grey like his dam, lovely big bold foal.

Scanned four mares for 2014, La Reine de Rome is due to Arrayan Numa on the 6th of April.  Oor Eagle Eye Cherry in foal to Exbury Ghost due on the 13th of April and our imported Criollo mare Fatima is due to Arrayan Numa on the 17th of April.  Lady Erica also scanned in foal but had twinned again and we made the decision to inject her and start over.

Chamfron Marco Polo

Love this photo of Marco with his very manly Jolyball.  Great to hear from Louise that he has another nice colt on the ground out of their chestnut thoroughbred mare.

Chamfron Paloma - 13 Months Old

Enjoying life in the sunny south!

Visiting mare foals...

A filly foal for Kayreen Jones out of her lovely Dales mare Kilmannan Bluebell and by our Appaloosa stallion Exbury Ghost.  Arrived at a respectable time bang on her due date, clever girl BB!

Tuning Up.

Mark tuned up Arrayan for me tonight, including some nice tempi changes across the bog.  They also did a speedy and athletic half pass when Marks elbow hit the electric fence as he was doing the gate.  Left them both bright eyed and bushy tailed!

Field Move

A few days warmth has certainly greened up the fields, the back field isn't exactly lush but there is a bite to be had in the valley.  It was glorious down there today, full of butterflies and the dogs had a good paddle in the stream.  Sheila fell in, she is outstandingly uncoordinated for a cattle dog.  Moved seven of the horses in to it and the yearlings should follow them later in the week.

Feeling Virtuous!

A nice night so a chilli was thrown in the oven, Arrayan tacked up and off we went for a ten mile hack (or in Marks case jog, too keen, too keen).  We admired the piggy backing lambs and the bluebells, rattled over the clattery metal cover the water board had left, skirted round the toro, (that one is blurry, I'm not great with cattle!!) made grunting noises at the piggies and came home and stuffed our faces with no guilt!
