Eventful Day!!

We have a new broodmare, an ex polo pony called Joanna has joined the Chamfron gang.  The day wasn't without its excitement though.  Firstly we borrowed Rose and Dicks trailer as the lorry, now named Tena Lady due to a second desiel leak, was at the garage.

Secondly the Sat Nav (who is Irish and named Monika O'Shaughnessy... long story) let us down for the first time ever.  We went on a magical mystery tour, up farm tracks, through farm yards, over a very teeny weeny bridge and so on.  Then the cheery "turn round when possible" - Monika it is NOT possible, not possible at all, what have you done?!  Then a bit of good luck, a lovely jogger who said we could get to the A1 if we kept going, though clearly he couldn't quite believe we had got to where we were.  So on we crept, a tractor track, the sort you don't want to do in a four by four never mind a low slung dodge saloon with a trailer on the back.  When we got to tarmac with the sump still intact we breathed again.  In fact we were so pleased to be out onto a road, we went the wrong way, arghhhh, no slip roads for eight miles, bloody super.  Still we did get there in the end!

Round two, coming home...  Pulled out of yard and Joanna scrambled a bit, round the first round about, she scrabbled a bit more.  No panic she'll be OK when we are on a straight bit of road.  Errrr, down the A1 we went, weaving slightly, banging furiously, shit, shit, shit.  Of the A1 we came and headed of to the Millers store at Fordel, mare really struggling to balance, Mark thankfully is a very good driver and we didn't end up upside down in the ditch.  OK rethink... haylage bought (we don't travel ours with food normally) Oxyshot bought - mare well dosed up and when I missed her mouth Mark got 10mls too.  Partition pulled over and off we crept... silence... could it be... yes...  Not a peep out of her for the next hour and a half, phew.

So she's home, met the chooks, tarting it up to Arrayan, stuffing her face, seems happy.

Mark is now chasing his Oxyshot with a stiff whisky!
