Amazing Camels!

Fantastic day on Thursday riding Joseph and Rebecca Fossett's amazing camels around the Warwickshire countryside in glorious sunshine. What an absolute treat.

Chamfron Tizona Away (Part two!)

We delivered Tizona to Christine Harling in Gloucestershire on wednesday, she loaded and travelled like a dream and I'm sure that winter coat will be coming out in handfuls now she's moved to the sunny south!

What is a foal to do when its morning snooze is disturbed for a journey down South? Get on the trailer and go back to bed!!!

A Wee Treat...

Well my birthday lens arrived today and it would have been rude not to leap in the car immediately and go squirrel stalking. The plan was to test it out on some serious squirrely action shots as they bounded through the trees and did the can can for me... The reality was one hurried snap of the one squirrel we saw very briefly!! I do like the lens though (lots!!)

Spring!

Lovely warm day, rugs off all the horses, tractor washed and as it has been such a mild (horrible wet) winter everyone is getting a good showering of louse powder.

Warm Whippets!

Muriel was worried that as the whippets were getting older perhaps they felt the cold more, in particular she was concerned about cold ears. So all the way from Sweden the whippets have hats beautifully made by Vinthunden! Wif has moved his to a jaunty back of the head look and you see the dirty mark on Silk's shoulder..? Well in hindsight that is something unpleasant (probably fox or badger) that he's rolled in, he then cheerfully rubbed against me on the pretense of showing of his new hat, the computer is now warming my jeans and the smell is wafting up, delicious!!

Chamfron Westminster - 11 Months Old

Well I have a wee row of suns on the computer weather forecast and Wills is half welsh cob so we thought he could go out for the summer. He is a really lovely mover even when he's going through slop!

Spring turnout.

The herd is now next to the house as the ground is trying to dry up and there is a bite of grass for them. Pretty grey and grotty day but at least its not raining...!

Chamfron Confetti - 10 months old.

Confetti has grown on well this winter and is a very quiet and easy filly, she is now sold to a lovely home with another appaloosa and will be going up north soon!

Climbing Criffel.

It was a nice day on the farm so we thought we would climb Criffel (near Sweetheart Abbey) and admire the clear views over Dumfries and Cumbria... Not perhaps the best success on that count to be perfectly honest! About half way up the path changed to bog, about two thirds of the way up the cloud came in and then nearer the top the wind whipped up and it was cold, blustery and visability of about three yards. Had a quick sit on the cairn, a wonder about who Edna is and if she's still doing OK, then back down the hill with quick snap stops as Mark went on his backside and I fell in a hole!

Chamfron Westminster in art, part 2!

We have had a really good weekend here, yesterday Christine from Global Saddles brought a selection of South American saddles for me to try and we decided on a trail saddle, which Arrayan will undoubtably be photographed in soon. We are also thrilled that Christine fell in love with Tizona and agreed to buy her.

The artist Caroline Howlett has finished her drawing of Wills (her website is HERE and Facebook page HERE!) Wills has some extra's hidden in his spots, including a Union Jack as of course he was a Royal Wedding foal.
